Rasmus Nossbring (b. 1991, Sweden) is a glass artist whose vivid sculptures of stacked towers and surrealistically combined forms feature animals, appendages, eyes, and doodle-like squiggles. Colors eddy in the flux of glass, generating vibrant and unexpected combinations. Occasionally, Nossbring repurposes found objects and old press molds from the Gustavsberg factory, adapting traditional elements of Swedish design to his own idiom. At other times, he finds poetry in life’s unhurried rhythms, as with one sculpture’s title, “Watching Snow Melt,” or in another showing the frozen image of a man bathing.

Nossbring has worked with glass from an early age, initially taking on an apprenticeship at the Reijmyre Glassworks as a teenager, where he continued to work for eight years. He went on to pursue a Bachelors and Masters degree at Konstfack University. Today, he operates the glass studio STHLM Glas in Gustavsberg alongside his co-founder Simon Klenell. Nossbring’s work has received recent awards from the Swedish Arts Grants Committee, ELLE Sweden, and the Estrid Ericson Foundation. He is included in the collections of the National Museum in Stockholm, the Glass Factory in Boda, Färgfabriken Art Hall, and Public Art Agency Sweden.
